This September, Factory Phnom Penh becomes a bridge between two ancient civilizations. The "Heritage Homeland · Beauty Shared" China-Cambodia Cultural Heritage Festival, jointly organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, will stage the season's grandest cultural exhibition, and the doors are open to everyone, free of charge.
The celebration begins on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM, with a month-long journey of interactive exhibitions unfolding from September 5 to October 4. Supported by the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage and the Royal University of Fine Arts of Cambodia, the festival turns heritage into something you can touch, taste, and try.Experience Living Traditions Firsthand
The event will bring Chinese traditions to life through Hanfu dress-up experiences, hands-on calligraphy workshops, authentic regional cuisine, interactive games with prizes, photography spots, and engaging activities for all ages. It promises a dynamic experience for students, families, young professionals, and enthusiasts from across Cambodia.
The festival aims to strengthen people-to-people connections between China and Cambodia, particularly among younger generations. Through lectures, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences, the event will help visitors better understand the cultural heritage of both countries and the friendship that continues to connect them.
A Journey Across China in 61 Stories
The centerpiece is a visual odyssey: 61 stories drawn from China's UNESCO World Heritage sites, iconic landmarks, architectural marvels, timeless traditions, and the conservation triumphs that keep them standing. Each image invites visitors to discover the wisdom and history behind a destination, and to dream of seeing it in person one day. The display also honors a quieter kind of heroism: Chinese archaeologists working side by side with Cambodian experts to protect Angkor and Cambodia's other historic treasures.The display will also shine a spotlight on the real-world contributions of Chinese archaeologists working alongside Cambodian experts to protect and conserve Angkor and other historic sites in Cambodia.

Voices of Culture and the Official Opening
Beyond the galleries, the educational booth "Conserving Angkor Heritage: China-Cambodia Cultural Heritage Cooperation" reveals the research and collaboration behind real-world conservation work.
The formal program opens with welcome remarks from Ms. Li Ji, Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cambodia, followed by a representative of Cambodia's cultural conservation experts. Ms. Yuan Mengxi, cultural heritage conservation project participant, then delivers the keynote lecture "Tales of Restoration in Angkor" with a question-and-answer session to follow.
The ceremony culminates in remarks by H.E. Mr. Wang Wenbin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia, followed by a documentary screening celebrating the two nations' joint preservation efforts.
